Amidst the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, D:BATE’s second event (Thursday 13 June 2012) was held on the following motion:
‘Great party but the Monarchy is expensive, unaccountable and irrelevant. Britain needs a democratic alternative’

D:BATE’s successful, inaugural event was held, as part of the Bath Digital Festival, on Monday 19 March 2012 at the Bath Pump Room.
It was held on the motion of ‘Digital is killing the Print Industry. The presses will stop running in ten years.’

D:BATE is a new live debating forum established with the aim of hosting at least four exciting events each year in the City of Bath on topical issues. Our inaugural event will be hosted within the Bath Digital Festival that runs from 15-25 March 2012 and takes on a digital-versus-analogue theme.
